Matthew Castro, 18, was charged with trespassing for allegedly living inside a family's attic in their home in Mount Juliet, Tenn.

A Tennessee man was arrested this week, after it was discovered that he'd been secretly living in the attic of a family's home and sneaking into the bedroom of a 14-year-old girl at night while the rest of the family slept.

The woman began to scream at him to leave, but he ran into her 14-year-old daughter's room and barricaded himself in the attic, refusing to leave, WZTV reports.

His stay came to an end earlier this month when the girl's mom returned home and found Castro - who had been involved with her daughter - standing at the top of the stairs, according to the report.

Police said they warned the man to stay away from the girl after she ran away from home.

However, Castro was arrested again for violating a protection order, trespassing and unlawfully entering a home when a neighbor saw him walking toward the 14-year-old's home on Thursday, Mt. Juliet Police Department revealed in a statement shared on Facebook.

Officers made their way into the attic, where they removed Castro from the home and arrested him.

Police officers who were summoned to the scene reportedly had to remove Casto by force from the residence because he refused to go willingly.

Investigators learned that Castro had been living in the attic and would come down at night through an attic door leading to the teen's closet.

Police have not commented on the nature of Casto's relationship with the 14-year-old.
