With a nation hanging on their every shot, Canada's only National Basketball Association team put the finishing touches to a remarkable 4-2 series upset that denied the Warriors a fourth championship in five years.

Leonard is the third player to win Finals MVP with two franchises, joining only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron James.

The Raptors became the first Canadian team to win a major North American sports title since the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays captured Major League Baseball's World Series.

"I thought they really fought hard, they were tough-minded", Raptors head coach Nick Nurse said of his team.

Thompson's injury came on the heels of a nightmare Game 5 for the Warriors, who won the game but lost Kevin Durant for the remainder of the series and beyond with a torn Achilles tendon.

Nadal beats Thiem to win record-stretching 12th French Open title
Fifteen-time golf Major victor and former world No. 1 Tiger Woods tweeted: "The King of Clay does not like to share his wealth". But then Thiem wilted, and Nadal barged through the opening. "One possibility was to stop for a while and recover my body".

But as inspiring as VanVleet's performance was and the insane end to the game, the undeniable story on the night was what happened to Klay Thompson.

Here are the top 50 free agents for this offseason.

Thompson made both free throw attempts, pushing his point total to 30 on just 12 shot attempts.

It was also the first championship for a team outside the U.S.

With less than 10 seconds remaining, the Warriors trailed 111-110 and had one chance to take the lead. "But our DNA and who we are and the character that we have on this team, I wouldn't bet against us being back on this stage next year and going forward".
