City join race for Maguire

Manchester United have made Leicester center-back Harry Maguire their top priority this season, and according to reports, the record time English top flight champions are becoming increasingly confident to bring the England worldwide to Manchester.

The Red Devils are also willing to throw in a defender to reduce the cash price though it remains to be seen whether Leicester are interested in such an offer.

United are willing to give up Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo to land Maguire, 26, in the coming weeks.

Will it make Maguire wait right until the end of the window to decide what does he do next?

Leicester are demanding around £80m for their star man this summer - a fee that would eclipse the £75m Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk.

The Englishman has emerged as a target of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after it became clear they would struggle to sign Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt.

Magnitude 6.5 natural disaster strikes off coast of Japan
An quake has jolted northwestern Japan, and officials are warning of a tsunami of up to one metre high along parts of the coast. All seven reactors at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant in Niigata were off line and no abnormalities have been reported.

Despite handing new contracts to Phil Jones and Chris Smalling last season, the team lacks a commanding figure in a back line which has shipped too many soft goals in recent years.

However, none of the defenders failed to cement a starting spot under Solskjaer.

Do you think Maguire is worth all that money?

"Leicester fans won't thank me for this, but they're going to be under real pressure to keep him this summer".

With Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi already at City, Maguire knows competition will be tough for a regular place in the side.
