Microsoft is all ready to start pushing PCs running Windows 10 version 1803 and is all set with latest feature release of Windows 10 versions 1903. It promised that the new Microsoft Edge would be available on all supported versions of the OS. In 2019, another key event took place: Chromium became the foundation of the Windows 10 version, and now Microsoft is bringing Edge to older Windows versions as well.

Speaking about the update the Microsoft Edge Team said: "Delivering the next version of Microsoft Edge to all supported versions of Windows is part of our goal to improve the web browsing experience for our customers on every device, and to empower developers to build great experiences with less fragmentation".

Bear in mind that Microsoft Edge preview, at the time of writing, does not support AAD sign-in and dark mode.

"We hope you'll try the preview out today, and share your feedback in the Microsoft Edge Insider community". Microsoft Edge will have the same always up-to-date platform and the same developer tools on all supported versions of Windows and macOS.

Civil rights leader John Lewis not offended by Biden’s work with segregationists
He said that Talmadge used to call him "son" but never "boy", adding "At least there was some civility. We got things done". Biden effusively praised him, including glowing words for Thurmond's life before public office".

Chromium-based Edge for Windows 7 leaked a few months ago. These builds are still rather experimental, and being on the Canary channel, will be updated daily. In my limited testing with Edge (in Windows 10), it felt fast and fairly functional for being such an early build.

Opera Software made the same decision in 2013 for its Opera browser, swapping out its own propriety Presto layout engine for Blink (based on Chromium).

Fortunately, Chromium Edge Browser is also available for macOS. This itself is strong enough incentive to switch to the new Chromium-based Edge browser because it will get better quicker than the current non-Chromium-based MSHTML version of Edge. Just visit the website and hit the download button next to the intended operating system. Support for Windows 7 won't end until January 2020 for consumers and much longer for enterprise so Microsoft has to keep its word.
