The company says that with Spotify Lite, users will be able to enjoy most of the features of the main app, including search artists, play songs, save them, share with others, discover new music, and listen to playlists specially curated for the users.

It is designed for those "in areas with limited bandwidth and phone storage".

For starters, the Spotify Lite has a file size of only 10MB which should make faster to download and install on one's phone.

Trump's "environment" speech was a case study in gaslighting
Ken Cook, a spokesman for the Environmental Working Group, called Mr Trump's speech "utter fantasy". Trump's speech comes at a time of growing national support for strong environmental protections.

Though Internet connectivity in India has improved over the past couple of years, many popular app makers are making Lite apps to attract more users to its service.

The basic UI and UX of the app, i.e the core experience of the Spotify Lite app remains similar to the standard app.

"With Spotify Lite, you can easily control your data and storage". You still have a bottom navigation bar, all of your favorites alongwith playlist recommendations accessible here as well. It even includes a data feature that lets you set a data limit and notifies you when you are over that limit so you don't go over your phone plan's data limits. According to Spotify, the Lite app can be downloaded separately, both for Free and Spotify Premium users. As of March 2019, the music platform reported 217 million users with 46 percent of them being paid subscribers (100 million). The app, available for free on Google Play, has initially been released in 36 countries, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates.
