The "Zacian and Zamazenta Edition" is named after the two Legendary Pokemon that represent the titular Sword and Shield aspects of each game. Switch Lite has the same 32GB of built-in storage, a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage, identical volume button layout, a headphone port and USB-C for charging. As it turns out, there was some truth to these rumors, as Nintendo has just revealed the Nintendo Switch Mini. Right in time for the busy gaming season of the year, the Nintendo Switch Lite release date is September 20, 2019. The 5.5-inch screen is slightly smaller, the battery life is slightly longer, and the Joy-Con controllers are built into the device rather than being detachable.

Unlike the larger Switch, which can be played with Joy-Con controllers, the smaller Switch Lite features integrated controllers. Some Switch games benefit from using a Joy-Con in its horizontal configuration, giving it a layout similar to traditional NES and SNES controllers. You can't connect it to a TV and there's no kickstand for propping it up. In the official press release, Nintendo mention that "some games will have restrictions", but give no details as to what they'll include. "The Lite system also reduces the original's weight (from about 0.88 pounds to about 0.61 pounds, including Joy-Cons), height (4" to 3.6") and width (9.4" to 8.2"). It doesn't have IR sensors and it doesn't support HD rumble and motion sensors.

In terms of the size of the console, the original Switch measures at 102mm x 239mm x 13.9mm with both Joy-Cons attached. Nintendo says that it will clearly mark games in retail packaging and online.
