Barcelona have signed teenage West Brom striker Louie Barry, the LaLiga giants have announced.

Barcelona have fended off reported interest from other European heavyweights to sign England youth global Louie Barry, with the Ligue 1 champions rumoured to be eyeing the 16-year old, along with several Premier League clubs.

Louie Barry made the headlines when Barcelona unveiled him as the latest summer signing for their Under-19 squad on Thursday.

PSG had also lodged an interest in Barry who underwent a medical with the French club before he changed his mind joined the Spanish champions instead.

He was given a chance to impress in Barca's La Masia academy - equivalent to the U18 football while he was playing at West Brom. He has penned a three-year deal with La Blaugrana after starring for the Republic of Ireland Under-16s, for whom he netted a brace last September against Bulgaria. It's believed he will commit his worldwide future to England having scored seven goals in nine games.
