Kieran Trippier is in Madrid, all ready to start what will be an exciting new chapter in both his career and life.

Kieran Trippier has been made to feel at home as his new Atletico Madrid team-mates gave him a warm reception after sealing his transfer from Tottenham.

He also helped Spurs to the Champions League final for the first time in their history last season, where they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano stadium. "The 28-year-old has signed a contract for the next three seasons", a statement on the Atleti website read.

'The Englishman is a versatile full-back who can also play in midfield and has a fantastic right foot.' .

Kieran Trippier is delighted at the prospect of working under Diego Simeone after completing his move to Atletico Madrid.

Trippier made 38 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham in 2018-19, scoring one goal.

No fee was announced but he is reportedly moving for 20 million pounds ($24.5 million).

The signing continues an overhaul of the capital city outfit's backline.

He moved to Tottenham from Burnley in 2015 after an impressive spell in the side at Turf Moor.

Trippier will be the first English player to play for Atletico in La Liga and the third British player in Spain's top flight next season alongside Scottish forward Jack Harper of Getafe and Real Madrid's Gareth Bale.

The manager believes Juan Foyth, nominally a centre-half, will be able to adapt to the position while interest is retained in Fulham's left-sided player, Ryan Sessegnon, and his twin brother, Steven, who operates at right-back.
