As one of the most beloved fantasy series of all time, expectations for the show could not be higher.

During Comic-Con, the network debuted the trailer for "His Dark Materials" starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and Dafne Keen.

HBO hasn't announced an exact release date for His Dark Materials just yet, though the show is expected to arrive on the small screen in the fall. A new trailer is here, hot on the heels of HBO's Comic-Con presentation.

His Dark Materials takes place in a fantasy world where human souls take the form of animals, called Deamons in the books.

The series is based off the bestselling and truly magical books by Philip Pullman, and revolves around an orphan named Lyra Belacqua whose world is turned around when she learns about Dust, a mysterious particle that's connected to everything and everyone in the universe. They are joined by The Wire's Clarke Peters (as The Master) and Logan star Dafne Keen (as the aforementioned Lyra).

However, with a second season already greenlit, if the emotion is there, the effects are there, and more than anything the armored polar bear is there, people may soon be asking, "what's the next His Dark Materials?". The first series follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but fearless young woman from another world.

Animals also play a large role in the series as Lyra searches for a lost friend and uncovers an untoward system involving stolen children. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets a determined and courageous boy called Will. "Together, they encounter extraordinary beings and risky secrets, with the fate of both the living - and the dead - in their hands".
