Was Baker Mayfield almost a Patriot?

While discussing the offseason trade of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.to ESPN's Mina Kimes - Mayfield put New York Giants fans in his sights when he suggested the change of venue would greatly suit Odell because he'll be playing ball in front of a fan base that actually shows up. Mayfield seemingly responded to the decision after the Browns beat the Bengals in November, as he appeared to snub Jackson after the game and wrote on social media that the coach is "fake". "It's human nature to want to get revenge".

Beckham spent the first five seasons of his career with NY, who selected the wideout with the 12th pick of the 2014 National Football League draft.

The Browns and Giants are not scheduled to play this season. The Browns sent a pair of draft picks with safety Jabrill Peppers to secure the star pass-catcher, reuniting him with his college teammate and best friend, Jarvis Landry, and giving Mayfield a risky new weapon to work with. The list goes on, and Giants fans still supported him and his long-term deal he received prior to 2018.

Mayfield previously defended Beckham on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" in April when Cowherd insisted that Beckham wasn't happy after being traded to the Browns.

FC Barcelona Submit New Mega-Offer For Neymar
Well, it appears Barca are very much keen on bringing Neymar back to the Camp Nou and reports suggest the feeling is mutual.

"I'm not gonna lie to you and say that the first time I played Hue did not feel good", Mayfield explained. Regardless, Mayfield stands behind what he said and would do it all over again.

"Baker's gonna be Baker", Jackson told ESPN.

In a recent interview with ESPN's Mina Kimes, Mayfield said there is no truth to the rumors that Beckham would have preferred staying in NY over getting traded to the Browns.

"It was pretty hectic", Mayfield said. Mayfield immediately shot back on those rumors, telling him to, "Come to Cleveland and ask O if he actually likes it".
