The first glimpse of Henry Cavill in action as Geralt of Rivia has finally arrived, and it's proving to be just as epic as Andrzej Sapkowski's novels upon which the show The Witcher is based.

If you're looking for a bewitching new show to binge... well, Netflix has just the thing for you.

I think this trailer is very impressive and is much better than a lot of the still images we have seen.

The first trailer for The Witcher series on Netflix was shown off at San Diego Comic-Con today. Yennefer in particular gets a full origin story, as the show reminds us - which the games occasionally forget about - that sorceresses in this world only look attractive because they're using magic to look so. One clip sees Geralt fighting multiple enemies with his sword in a castle's throne room.

Ilhan Omar, US congresswoman in eye of political storm
Omar, who was born in Somalia, is one of four newly elected Democratic congresswomen to repeatedly clash with the President. In February, the 37-year-old sparked an uproar when she suggested money is why so many USA politicians support Israel.

Henry Cavill (Mission Impossible - Fallout, Justice League) leads the cast of The Witcher saga, playing the role of Geralt of Rivia, alongside other main cast members, Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders, Wanderlust) as Yennefer and Freya Allan (The War of the Worlds, Into The Badlands) as Ciri. Yennefer seems to be undergoing some kind of transformation.

You can check out the rest of the cast's and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich's behind-the-scenes thoughts in the video at the top of the page, and make sure to check out everything we know about The Witcher coming to Netflix.

"I've been rewatching dailies and my kids aren't allowed to look at the screen anymore after one of them snuck around and saw something they shouldn't have seen and it scared him", she said. He's played all the games. "I don't know how I got here". "Ultimately, they're taken in by a group of witches who are trained in a level of inhuman agility and endurance". Ciri looks very anxious. "The characters you're rooting for in the beginning may not be the characters you're rooting for in the end", Hissrich says.

Allan said of her character, "She's had a very sheltered upbringing and as a result she's incredibly naive to what the real world is".
