A great end to the weekend; a couple unsettled days this week

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy. High: Near 80.

Monday will be even warmer with a few more clouds; highs will reach the mid to upper 80s. There is a slight chance for a shower (mainly northern CT).

Monday turns warmer and more humid as we head back to work with highs in the mid-upper 80s.

Most spots picked up a few hundredths of an inch of rainfall this morning and now we have plenty of clouds that look like they are going to release more raindrops but besides an isolated shower we will stay dry this evening and tonight.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 70 and an east southeast wind of 3 to 5 miles per hour, according to the weather service. Storm chances on Sunday will be limited to northwestern Kansas, especially late in the afternoon through the evening.

While temperatures trend downward, the chance of rain and thunderstorms go up.

It was Woods performance in the Players Championship that really caught the eye, with rounds of 65 and 69 during the weekend. With the leaders in the US Open normally hovering around par, this produces a great opportunity for Woods to capitalize.

And while the workweek will start off sunny with temperatures in the upper 80s, potentially-severe thunderstorms are heading our way on Tuesday. Highs in the upper 80s.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 84, the weather service said.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon.

Mon: High: 98 Low: 77 Mostly sunny, late night showers/storms.

Fri: High: 92 Low: 70 Mostly sunny.
