DJ Arafat passes on after being involved in road accident

The news of Arafat's death came to the public knowledge after the country's broadcaster RTI tweeted it, saying: "Death of artist DJ Arafat... today at 8:00 am as a result of a road accident overnight".

Yesterday, it was reported on a major news portal on the death of Ivorian musician DJ Arafat after crashed his motorbike with one presenter known as Denise Laffafiette's vehicle and died after a short while.

Per what we gathered, he had been driving a motorbike and he smashed it into a vehicle.

The 33-year-old was rushed to a hospital in Abidjan with a fractured skull where he later died.

"We are all in shock", Ickx Fontaine, an Ivorian producer and specialist in hip hop told AFP.

Ivorian Culture Minister Maurice Kouakou Bandaman gave his condolences to DJ Arafat's family and fans, adding that he planned to pay homage to his life and career.

The Ivorian was the champion of the Coupe- Decale sound which was embraced by many artistes across the continent, including Kenyan gospel singer Daddy Owen. His mother was a well-known singer and his father a prominent sound engineer, one music manager said.
