When it returns, the series will have experienced an extreme makeover, with new actors playing the lead roles.

Netflix announced Monday that season 3 of the royal drama will premiere Sunday, Nov. 17.

This time around there's a new queen as Academy Award victor Olivia Colman takes over the role from Claire Foy, who played Queen Elizabeth II the first two seasons.

The series is set to follow the trials and tribulations of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, with season three set to introduce Princess Diana (who will be played by Emma Corrin) and Camilla Parker Bowles (played by Emerald Fennell).

The video was shared with the caption, "Season Three of The Crown, starring Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, arrives 17th November".

Colman previously played the role of another British monarch, Queen Anne, in The Favourite. It would be something if she won an Emmy for Queen Elizabeth.

It's been almost two years since fans of Netflix's hit The Crown got their fix, and we now know when our favourite royals drama will return to TV: Nov. 17!

Some are already stanning Colman as the queen. Netflix has dropped brief footage from the new season showing Colman in royal regalia. The pair take over from Claire Foy and Matt Smith, respectively. The first season cost a rumoured £100m to make. The third season will cover 1964-1977.

"I think we all felt Olivia had something that corresponded [to what we wanted], that ability to be both plain and dazzling, and to be both knowable and unknowable", Morgan said.
