Recently we heard rumors that a phone dubbed the LG G8X would be announced in September, likely at IFA 2019, and while not much was known about the handset, we may now have seen it in the form of leaked renders.

We have already seen LG launching its LG G8S ThingQ which is the companies flagship smartphone and about the upcoming device, there is very little information except for the 360-degree video which says it could be the LG G8X.

Smartphones from the stables of U.S. tech giant Apple and China's Huawei are also expected to hit shelves in the coming months.

Earlier this year the president of the Mobile Communications Division at LG Electronics, Kwon Bong-seok, revealed the G-series will be the 4G lineup, while the V phones will support 5G.

Released in conjunction with Pricebaba, the CAD-based renders show the LG G8X with a glass rear panel identical in all but the fingerprint sensor to the original LG G8, with dual rear cameras accompanied by a flash. There is no indication of a physical fingerprint sensor on the device hence it should be coming with an in-display fingerprint sensor along with the AI facial unlocking system.

The second major difference is the presence of an earpiece, which suggests LG has ditched its hole-less Crystal Sound tech from the LG G8, which used vibrations to produce sound through the screen.

The Korean smartphone maker said the new phone had "free stop hinge" technology, created to add the ability to stop and hold the second screen at any position, like a laptop. The overall dimensions of 159.3 x 75.8 x 8.5mm make for a longer and slightly thicker device. We expect it to be powered by the same Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor as the G8 ThinQ, paired with at least 6GB of RAM.
