We exclusively reported that Oppo is planning to launch a new smartphone in the Reno series in India this month.

While the whole technical details remain under the wraps, the invite has a sketch of the Reno 2 which confirms a few things. The Reno 2 series would feature a quad-camera setup with 20x zooming capabilities on the high-end variant. If true, that will signal that Oppo has beaten its competitors to become the first company to offer such technology in a smartphone.

Given the length of the vertically stacked quad-camera setup, one could assume that the Reno 2 might get an in-display fingerprint scanner with an AMOLED display.

The invite reveals that the next-generation of Reno smartphones will be known as Oppo Reno 2 series.

To recall, Oppo Reno was launched at a price of Rs Rs 32,990, while the Reno 10x zoom edition has a starting price of Rs 36,990 and goes up to Rs 49,990.
