Paris waiter shot dead over slow service

Restaurant staff called the police after the man was shot in the shoulder in Noisy Le Grand, 15 k " m east of central Paris.

All attempts to revive the 28-year-old failed, and he eventually died at the scene.

A customer shot a waiter dead in Paris for taking too long to deliver his sandwich to his table, according to local media.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been caught.

In a notice published online yesterday, it said that each bag bears the code P-13456 and has a use-by date of January 31, 2020. The unknown material was discovered after Food and Safety Inspections services received several complaints from customers.

A witness said: "He got very agitated and flew into a awful rage that his sandwich wasn't being made fast enough". All that is now known is that the man was alone at the time of the shooting.

Police have opened a murder investigation. The whereabouts of the shooter are still unknown.

With the shooter still on the run yesterday, shocked residents gathered outside the pizza and sandwich eatery. One resident, clearly in disbelief stated: "He was killed for a sandwich?"

"It is sad", a 29-year-old woman told AFP.

It said the restaurant had opened three or four months before the incident.
