Ewan McGregor Confirms the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series At D23

Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the news at the end of the Star Wars portion of the Disney+ presentation, ending long-standing rumors that something involving McGregor was in the works.

Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, was excited to reprise the role in the Disney+ series. The Scottish actor said he was relieved that he could finally reveal he would return to the role.

"Yes", said McGregor and the audience erupted in cheers. "Now I can say 'yes, we're going to do it'".

Ewan McGregor will now return to the role after 14 years having last appeared in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the final installment of the franchise's prequel trilogy.

"We have all the scripts written and we're ready to start shooting next year", said Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy.

If they prevailed, they would be able to seize the properties, sell them, and distribute the proceeds to victims. The other suits make similar accusations, saying Epstein promised gifts, money and careers.

The new series isn't the only addition to the Star Wars universe: The Mandalorian is set to premiere in November on Disney's forthcoming streaming platform, Disney+.

His new series, which still doesn't have a name nor any other details beyond his involvement, is expected to start filming next year.

Previously unannounced series set in Marvel's wildly popular superhero universe and a live-action Lady and the Tramp film were among the shows teased at the biennial D23 fan convention in California, to whooping cheers from Disney devotees dressed as their favorite characters. New footage showed battered Stormtrooper helmets mounted on spikes and crumbling in the desert dust, with cowering mothers and children fleeing from armed villains.
