Derevyanchenko (13-1, 10 KOs), 33, of Ukraine, lost a vacant IBF world title fight to Daniel Jacobs in October.

"We will bring back "Big Drama Show" to the ring of the Garden and to DAZN". The fight will headline a DAZN card, Golovkin's second since signing a six-fight deal with the streaming service.

Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Boxing, added: "Gennadiy is one of the most recognisable and entertaining fighters on the planet and I can't wait to get started to work together on the upcoming world title challenge against Derevyanchenko at Madison Square Garden on October 5th". Golovkin was next in the IBF rankings, and he and Derevyanchenko had until September 4 to strike a deal.

Former unified Middleweight king Golovkin (39-1-1 35 KOs) is aiming to regain the IBF crown he held for three years before being stripped of the title following the first of his two epic battles with Mexican rival Canelo Alvarez. Derevyancheno last fought in April, when he bested Jack Culcay by unanimous decision in Minneapolis. The IBF ordered that they make a deal by September 4 or a purse bid would be ordered. "Sergiy came very close to fulfilling his dream previous year, and I truly believe that his time is now against GGG, one of the best middleweights of this era".

It is also home to the world's largest gold mine, but many Papuans say they've not shared in the region's vast mineral wealth. Authorities are hunting for more than 250 inmates who had escaped from a prison in Sorong that was torched during the riots.

What do you think about Golovkin taking on Derevyanchenko next?

He added: "I've long admired Gennady as a fan and how he conducts his business and we team up at a very exciting moment".

"I'm very excited that my team has secured another opportunity for me to fight for the middleweight championship of the world", said Derevyanchenko, who will earn more than $5 million, by far his biggest payday.

Derevyanchenko and Golovkin will be fighting for the IBF 160-pound world title stripped from Canelo Alvarez on August 1, when he failed to finalize a deal to face Derevyanchenko, the mandatory challenger.
