The official launch of the OnePlus TV is taking place next month, so there's not a lot of time left for us to keep guessing.

OnePlus finally broke its long silence regarding its highly-anticipated OnePlus TV last week. The OnePlus TV will also be announced in Europe, the United States of America and China in October.

What's interesting here is that OnePlus is going with QLED rather than OLED.

QLED stands for quantum-dot light-emitting diode.

Huawei Launches Ascend 910, its Powerful Artificial Intelligence Chip
The company also unveiled its open source AI computing framework that will make it easier for developers to make AI applications. Huawei chucked around a few datapoints involving things like Teraflops, to support its claim that the Ascend 910 kicks AI ass.

A screenshot of what appears to be a Google Play Developer Console listing reveals that OnePlus TV, codenamed "Dosa" (a South Indian food item), will be powered by a yet-unknown MediaTek MT5670 SoC and have a Mali-G51 GPU in tow. This is a term Samsung uses for its quantum dot TVs and it is the only brand which has a significant portfolio in the QLED segment. Apart from this OnePlus also confirmed that the OnePlus TV would also come with the support of Dolby Vision.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has stated that the OnePlus TV will optimise the Android experience to deliver a better user interface. Android TV Rumors also said that the OnePlus TV menus will be shown in 1080p resolution, the TV will offer 4K visuals for any compatible content. Thus, OnePlus's screen choice revelation above also signals that the OnePlus TV should be affordable products, something we've been suspecting all along. Just like its smartphones, OnePlus is now feeding tidbits of information about its upcoming TV every day. This is surprising as it was earlier known to be a 4K television.

While OnePlus has teased a 55-inch variant, it is unlikely to be the only one launching in India. Interestingly, the tweet was posted on the OnePlus Twitter handle for India, which is rumored to be the first market for OnePlus TV.
