French newspaper Le Parisien claimed on Monday that Schumacher, who has not been seen in public for nearly six years following his skiing accident, has been admitted to a Paris hospital for "secret treatment".

Reports now suggest the former F1 champion has been taken to Pompidou hospital in south-west Paris to have a stem cell transfusion carried out by French surgeon Philippe Menasche, according to Le Parisien newspaper.

Schumacher's family fiercely protects his privacy and he has not been seen publicly since the accident.

Schumacher was placed in a medically induced coma for six months after his December 29, 2013 accident, which snapped his ski helmet.

Schumacher's management have declined to comment on the latest report.

Schumacher won his first world title 25 years ago and had won his first Grand Prix back in 1992. It has been reported that this is the third time that the seven-time Formula One world champion has been treated for this, the first two times taking place this past spring.

According to the Daily Mail, the former F1 driver is said to have made more visits to the facility earlier in the year for checkups prior to the treatment.

"There are thousands and thousands of of us available in the market who enjoy a suitable affection for Michael, and that's the reason no longer lawful his fans in Germany or fans of Mercedes Benz".

Updates on Schumacher's health have been few and far between in the five and a half years that have passed since his accident.

"Michael is in the best hands and is well looked after in his house".

A new app was launched in conjunction, containing a virtual museum to celebrate Schumacher's achievements, and the family added: "As a gift to him, you and us, Keep Fighting Foundation has created a virtual museum".

"His family is fighting just as much and of course our friendship can not be the same as it once was", continued Jean. He continues to fight.
