Why we failed to sign Pogba, Neymar and Fernandes - Real Madrid

Manchester United will not lower their demands for Paul Pogba in the January window, according to reports.

A source close to the Red Devils hierarchy told the newspaper: "They acted as peacemakers between the player, his agent and the club".

When asked about the deal for Pogba, Perez is believed to have stated United did not want to sell while he suggested the Neymar speculation came from the media, rather than the club.

Ramos went on to extol the midfielder's virtues as a player, citing his performances at both Juventus and United, while hailing his importance to the squad.

Eriksen was also linked with Manchester United this summer - but only as a possible replacement for Pogba if the Frenchman left.

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez probably didn't expect to be starting this season with the club, but after failing to move over the summer, the Colombian hopes to become a key figure in Zinedine Zidane's side over the coming months.

Sergio Ramos recently said in an interview that Paul Pogba "would be welcomed" at Real Madrid. "Zlatan [Ibrahimovic]. Griezmann, because of the national team".

"I don't know about anyone from Real Madrid. Oh, [Raphael] Varane, yes, and yes, with [Zinedine] Zidane, yes".

There's no debate that Pogba is United's best and most important player, and their years of mediocrity could continue if they lose a player of his caliber.

Surely, Pogba still wants to play for Zidane and Los Blancos, but if United give him an offer he can't refuse and more stability, then Madrid will have to look at Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek, and Bruno Fernandes next summer.

"I think he brings balance to a team".

"I was happiest in my early years at Celta, it is where I grew up as a player and a man, it was the happiest stage of my football and general life".
