Fire & Blood, released in 2018, is a book by Martin that specifically explores the Targaryen lineage, including Aegon the Conqueror's creation of the Iron Throne, as well as the Dance of Dragons, a massive civil war, which is speculated to be a part of the new prequel.

Deadline is reporting that a sequel centered around the Targaryen dynasty in its death throes is close to getting a pilot from HBO.

Deadline first reported the development news.

The pilot episode of the first prequel of Game of Thrones is nearing its airing and fans in no time is set to go berserk as their favourite show is set to be back. According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, one of the prequels will focus on the beginnings and the end of House Targaryen.

Kim Clijsters stuns tennis world with shock comeback announcement
I really, really do. "And honestly I miss that feeling", she said on Twitter . "So ... what if I tried to do both?" she asked. Clijsters is eligible for unlimited wild cards in WTA tournaments but needs to play in three events to get a world ranking.

HBO initially announced that four prequel series were in the works and quietly added a fifth one in the months that followed. "I can not say", he wrote on his blog.

For those who have lived decent enough lives to not be in the know about ASOIAF/GoT, the Targaryens are one of the central families of the series. Knowing that it wanted to keep Thrones viewers coming back, the network hired five screenwriters to pitch prequel ideas.

The race to become "The Next Game of Thrones" is a crowded field indeed, and the biggest contenders all seem to be. However, this project is being executive produced by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal.

This prequel is not to be confused with the other prequel HBO already ordered from showrunner Jane Goldman, which stars Naomi Watts and had its pilot shot this summer. "I can not say. But maybe some of you should pick up a copy of FIRE & BLOOD and come up with your own theories", Martin said. House Targaryen ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros for about 300 years before the start of the show, so there's no shortage of stories and larger-than-life characters that can be turned into a series. I am binging it right now and studying.
