While we don't now know any specifics, we will find out what Tom Welling's Clark Kent has been up to in the last 8 years since Smallville ended. Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl followed soon after, and the crossover events between all four shows have become somewhat of a staple in the Arrow-verse. "Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it", the show's executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement.

Erica Durance will be reprising her role as Lois Lane and reuniting with Smallville co-star Tom Welling for The CW's upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, TVLine has confirmed.

'To say that we're thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement'.

It's finally happening. After spending the entirety of Smallville teasing it, Tom Welling's Superman is becoming the Man of Tomorrow, thanks to a trip to the Arrow universe. The end of the series saw Welling's version of the character finally embracing his destiny as Superman, costume and all - and the upcoming "Crisis" crossover, the press release claims, will "reveal what happened to Clark Kent nearly ten years" after the end of the show, which should be a major selling point for longtime Smallville fans. According to Deadline, Crisis will reveal where Durance and Welling's Lois and Clark have been doing since the end of Smallville. We assume he'll be rocking the suit in this crossover, and if he does, that should be a particularly interesting challenge for Welling. Elizabeth Tulloch made her Arrowverse debut as Lois during last year's Elseworlds crossover.

While the CW does a crossover event every year, this year is significant in that it marks the final season of the show that kicked off the Arrowverse: Arrow.
