Injured in the week-one finals win over South Sydney, the Roosters five-eighth will now go for full scans to determine if he needs surgery that will rule him out of Australian selection.

Luke Keary has revealed he played through the NRL finals with a syndesmosis injury that left him needing painkilling injections to face Melbourne and Canberra.

The Raiders weren't overwhelemed by the occasion and worked their way back into the game through Jack Wighton's try.

"Did it affect the way Canberra play out that final tackle?"

With the scores locked at 8-8 in the 72nd minute, Cummins initially ruled the Canberra Raiders would be awarded a fresh set of six tackles - believing Roosters fullback James Tedesco had spilled a bomb - and signalled as such.

The raiders will feel hard done by after the referee waved six-again only to change his mind.

The NRL's Head of Football has defended Ben Cummins" controversial "six-again' reversal decision which marred Sunday night's grand final victory by the Sydney Roosters.

"I knew it wasn't the match-winning try and we still had to defend". It was a bad shame for the grand final - and rugby league in general - that a referee essentially decided the game.

"He immediately corrects that call and calls last tackle, and called last tackle four more times before the play broke down". He said after the game the long-range effort evoked memories of Origin III, when he sealed the result with a try, albeit at the other end of ANZ Stadium.

Robinson wasn't happy with Thurston's line of questioning.

Michael Mitchell was the driver and allegedly dropped Green off in an unknown area then drove Jacquarious to the hospital. At times during his testimony, Brown became emotional and used his T-shirt and tissue to wipe away tears.

"The circumstances of refereeing is that once you give the signal you can't go back on that decision".

Thurston refused to take a backwards step.

"At the same time I am extremely proud of the boys, I love every single one of them and our actions next year will tell us whether we're going to back it up".

Trent Robinson is turning into a modern day great as he eyes a third title with the Roosters.

"What are my thoughts on that? I think there's a lot tonight you can talk about, but we nailed the execution on an opportunity that we had".

"I felt like there was a lot of controversy at different times and we made a decision to take advantage of it. We decided to make a difference and change the momentum of the game and we did".

Ben Cummins waves six again.

"Very numb at the moment, mate", he told the Nine Network.

Andrew Johns agreed and said "I'm with you Gus, that's not a sin bin", before relenting and saying "at least they're consistent".

Unfortunately for the Raiders, the Roosters went 90m and James Tedesco scored off the next set. Really, it is not a great look.
