The book names the accuser as former NBC News employee Brooke Nevils and details more of the allegations against Lauer that ended his TV career.

"According to Nevils, she 'was in the midst of telling him she wasn't interested again when he 'just did it, '" Farrow writes.

Annette Roque (L) and Matt Lauer attend the 2013 Animal League America Celebrity gala at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City on November 22, 2013.

Just over a month after the initial stories about Weinstein appeared, NBC News fired Lauer after receiving what the network described as a "detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace". We don't know all of the facts in all of this, but they are not allegations of an affair, they're allegations of a crime.

Nevils says she continued to have more sexual encounters with Lauer post-Sochi, and she was sometimes the initiator.

According to Variety, Nevils told Farrow the experience was "nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent".

"In a new book, it is alleged that an extramarital, but consensual, sexual encounter I have previously admitted having, was in fact an assault", Lauer's statement reads.

Lauer says Nevils is "making outrageous and false accusations to help sell another book". Nevils' identity was kept anonymous at the time at her request; this is the first time the details of her allegations are being made public.

"There are people who fully understand the actual dynamic that existed between Brooke and me", he said.

On the mobile side of things, so far the only laptop announced with a Radeon RX 5500M chip inside is MSI's Alpha 15 . AMD tells us that we should start seeing the Radeon RX 5500 come to desktop gaming PC starting this November.

Lauer said the night in Sochi was the first of several sexual encounters he had with Nevils over several months, including one in his dressing room at NBC, which "showed awful judgment on my part".

NBC said Lauer was sacked shortly after the complaint was initially filed. "People knew he would act overly flirtatious with the junior employees around the office". She moved to NBC's Peacock Productions to be a producer, "and reported it to one of her new bosses there".

"The claims by NBC's senior management about Ronan Farrow's reporting are simply not true, as his book will methodically demonstrate", said a Farrow representative.

"This is shocking and appalling", anchor Savannah Guthrie responded. "We are disgusted to our core". Her account was one of the complaints that led to Lauer's firing from NBC in 2017. While she was working with Meredith Vieira, the pair ran into Lauer at their hotel and had drinks with him at the bar.

He admits to engaging in a "variety of sexual acts" with Nevils including anal sex, but calls them "mutual and completely consensual".

In a three-page open letter released Wednesday, Lauer denounced the account, which he called "a risky and defamatory new part of a promotional effort to sell a book". We support her and any woman who has come forward with claims.

After Lauer was terminated in late 2017, he said in a statement: "There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. And that breaks my heart", Tweeted the 62-year-old. The first time was to retrieve her press credentials and the second was at Lauer's invitation.

"I've avoided commenting on the specifics of NBC's role in the Weinstein story to keep the focus on the women and their allegations". "The first moment we learned of it was the night of November 27, 2017, and he was sacked in 24 hours".
