At least 2 wounded in shooting at New Hampshire church

A gunman opened fire at a wedding ceremony inside a New Hampshire church Saturday shooting two people including the presiding bishop before guests tackled the shooter and pinned him to the ground until police arrived, authorities said.

Roark declined to say anything about the alledged's shooter's motive or his relationship to the couple or the New England Pentecostal Church.

In a statement, Lowell General Hospital said it had received one patient from the shooting and that person had been transferred to a hospital in Boston. Stay tuned for further information on this situation.

However, one fact that seemed to be buried if mentioned at all among the reports was how the shooting took place at a church were predominately Black people worshipped.

Roark said the church had just received active shooter training from his department within the previous year.

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu said in a post on Twitter that state officials were at the scene and that the state would "provide all necessary resources to support the community and our local partners".

She did not have identifying details for the patient, and could not confirm whether the injuries were caused by gunshots or something else.

Pelham is a town of about 12,000 people 40 miles north of Boston. The funeral for Minister Garcia was scheduled for after the wedding.

Police have sealed off the area around the New England Pentecostal Church, citing an "active investigation".

The church was also preparing Saturday for the noon celebration of life for Luis "Kiko" Alberto Garcia.

The shooting came just hours before a service was to be held for a church minister who was shot in the neck and killed last week. A man has been charged in his murder and is jailed.
