A former White Home adviser on Russian Federation has instructed Home impeachment investigators that she had strongly and repeatedly objected to the ouster of the US ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

Mulvaney also took part in the "rogue operation with legal implications".

"I am not part of whatever drug deal Rudy and Mulvaney are cooking up", Ms Hill said Mr Bolton told her, according to Politico.

"I don't know Fiona and can't figure out what she is talking about", Giuliani said in reaction to Hill's testimony, according to The Washington Post.

Congressional Democrats believe the president was holding up military aid to use as leverage to pressure Ukraine and advance his domestic political interests before next year's United States presidential election, which could see Trump and Biden vying for the White House. At the time, the State Department has called the allegation an "outright fabrication" that "does not correspond to reality". "Our first order of business was to agree that we must have a bipartisan, bicameral joint resolution to overturn the President's unsafe decision in Syria immediately", Pelosi wrote in a tweet, adding that Congress must also pass a "stronger sanctions package than what the White House is suggesting". Michael McKinley, the former senior adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, is expected to testify behind closed doors on Wednesday, according to two officials working on the impeachment inquiry. "She would have access - and would have been involved in - senior discussions on Russian Federation and other issues, with visibility in internal discussions within the White House on Russian Federation and Ukraine", Cohen added.
