No. 2 LSU probably has the most impressive collection of victories this year, beating Texas on the road and taking care of Florida in Death Valley.

The seventh weekend of the 2019 regular season was a huge one, with big games like Oklahoma-Texas, Penn State-Iowa and LSU-Florida taking place. Ohio State, 6. Wisconsin, 7. They're likely the absolute best two right now, although that feels disrespectful towards an Ohio State team that hasn't played a tough schedule yet, but shut out the one ranked team it played so far (Cincinnati).

The College Football Playoff isn't reserved for undefeated teams. That makes it extremely tough to judge how good the defending champs are, and the scare at North Carolina two weeks ago is all I need to justify putting the ACC Tigers at a solid No. 4. Minnesota improved to 6-0 on the season on Saturday night, blowing out Scott Frost's Nebraska team, 34-7.

The four-team Playoff was meant to be a test run for the Playoff to see if it would work.

'Nothing burger': US-China trade truce kicks can down the road
In exchange, the US will delay the tariff increase due Tuesday as the deal is finalized. Before the trade war started, the outlook for the global economy was sunny.

The Bulldogs' stunning defeat drops them completely out of the New Year's Six for the first time in this week's bowl projections, allowing another team to step in to the projected field for the first time this year.

Hopefully the eighth week is going as these teams did at the seventh week.

Which of these four teams deserves to be No. 1?

The Tigers and Crimson Tide appear to be on a collision course this season. Florida went on to play LSU and lost at Baton Rouge.

Despite losing their head coach in the offseason, Appalachian State found a way to return to the AP poll to be ranked in consecutive seasons and there are a lot of programs that can't say the same. But approximately midway through the season, it seems as though some other teams have a great shot this time around.
