Duchess Kate Middleton speaking in Urdu wins Pakistani hearts

A severe thunderstorm forced a plane carrying Kate Middleton and Prince William to abort a landing while flying in Pakistan on Thursday, reports say.

Pakistani authorities have deployed hundreds of police and paramilitary security forces for the protection of the visiting royal couple, who will return home Friday.

"The pilot circled for an hour but the lightening - and turbulence - was so bad we had to fly back", tweeted the Daily Mail's royal correspondent Rebecca English, who was on board the plane. Landed! But in Lahore. There was no immediate statement from Kensington Palace.
