The Pixelbook Go comes in four variants that have either an m3, i5, or i7 processor, as well as an SSD with 64, 128, or 256GB. For instance, people who invoke the Assistant on Chrome OS tend to use it to control smart home devices - most commonly connected lightbulbs in the evening before they shut their off laptop and head to bed.

Sherry Lin, a product manager Pixel, said Google tested adding 5G network technology but found that it was "just does not work very well if the trees and buildings got in the way".

What do you mean you've seen it already?

The Pixelbook Go looks quite like a small MacBook, but it's thinner at just 13mm. You'll have your choice of Intel Core m3, Core i5, or Core i7 processors paired with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM.

When you open up the Pixelbook Go, you'll find two huge front-firing speakers on either side of the keyboard and provide you an immersive sound experience. The next step up costs $200 but gets you our recommended minimum specs: a Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD.

Brexit talks go down to the wire ahead of European Union summit
Johnson wants to secure a deal at the summit, then put it to lawmakers in a special session of Parliament on Sunday. The European Commission said negotiators had reached "a fair and balanced agreement for the EU and the UK".

It also features a stronger battery than previous models, now delivering up to 12 hours of working battery life on a single charge, on top of having 8-16GB of memory and up to 256GB of SSD storage space. Another is Gameloft, which recently further tuned its latest Asphalt title - Asphalt 9 Legends - for devices like the Pixelbook Go. It's a $649 clamshell created to be lighter and more affordable than the original Pixelbook.

"Beneath the hood, Pixelbook Go has the same high-performance components you have seen in additional Produced By Google computers". The main question will be whether you can get the same thing cheaper elsewhere.

The Pixelbook Go is $100 more than our favourite budget Chromebook, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434. Two USB-C ports are also included, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack. While the Air offers more pixels out of the gate, the Pixelbook Go can be configured with a 4K screen if you spring for the $1,399 model.

Google says it took everything it learned from the original Pixelbook and refined it in the Pixelbook Go. That makes the 1mm of travel feel more substantial as you're typing, and the keys have a little extra "bounce" compared to the classic Pixelbook. The $649 and $849 models are set to start shipping October 28.
