De Gea was forced off in Spain's Euro 2020 qualifier against Sweden on Tuesday night and Solskjaer admits he is also likely to miss the Liverpool clash at Old Trafford.

Pogba, meanwhile, has been hampered by an ankle injury this season and played only twice for United in September.

The Mirror claim early indications suggest the injury isn't serious but De Gea will be fully assessed by Man Utd's medical team and undergo a scan today before the full extent of the injury is know.

Paul Pogba will not be fit for Manchester United's clash with Liverpool, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"I think he'll be out." he said.

Such an injury adds to a growing sense of doom ahead of a game which hardly any United fan is looking forward to.

However, the clash against Jurgen Klopp's unblemished Liverpool side will come too soon for both players as United look to recover from a hard start to the season. "It certainly looked like it anyway, judging by last night, so it's just one of those things".

The two injuries are a blow for Solskjaer's side, who sit 12th in the Premier League, 15 points behind leaders Liverpool, who have won all eight of their league matches thus far.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is in a similar situation after missing the last three games with a bout of tonsillitis.
