Harry says stress of memories around Diana’s death is ‘wound that festers’

Harry said: "I think probably a wound that festers".

The Duke said he suffers constant flashbacks to the "bad stuff" as a result of his public role in the Royal Family, saying being in front of the cameras forces him to endure the "worst reminders" of her life.

He said dealing with her death - which occurred when he was just 13 - has been hard, as he described his life as a royal as "the worst reminder of her life".

Prince Harry says his mother is constantly on his mind, and the trip to Africa, as well as numerous causes he commits his life to, is in tribute to Diana and part of his effort to continue the work she did.

"Being here now, 22 years later, trying to finish what she started will be incredibly emotional", Harry said in the interview, which took place during his and Duchess Meghan's royal tour of southern Africa.
