The World Cup victor has only started one Premier League game and made one other appearance in the Carabao Cup.

He did reveal he is doing extra work with the club's fitness coach, though, and Emery urged players in his squad not to let frustration get the better of them when chances are limited.

Lacazette, 28, did manage two goals in those three matches though and can add some quality in attack to Unai Emery's team when playing. Sometimes one player could be important playing or could be important being on the bench or could be important preparing for the next match.

The 31-year-old hasn't even made the squad for the past three league games, despite being fit, with Emery stating that others were more deserving of an opportunity to impress.

"When I moved from Real Madrid, it was a really tough time for Arsenal, but I always believed in what we could do and together we delivered".

However, the player himself has now underlined his intention to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place in the first team under Emery.

"It always happens that an ex-player stands there on TV and criticises me", he told The Athletic.

'But now I am telling you I am feeling better with him'.

If he is okay, if he is ready, if he is available and training, gives us a good feeling every day in training, he can play.

"It depends on how he feels over the next days training with us and his ankle is not giving him any more problems".

"This is our mentality and really we can be frustrated with some moments in our past".

"We are going to play a lot of matches after Monday and we need every player. But it is really important that he has started to train with us".

"I didn't want to stay for just one or two more years, I wanted to commit my future to Arsenal and the club wanted me to do the same. I think the team is improving and now we are in third in the table but we want to finish this season fighting for the title". "If we need him we are going use him".

Lacazette was not involved in a training match against a Reading XI during the global break, but an update on Arsenal's website on Thursday said the forward was "progressing well".
