"To be honest, I'm not putting too much thought into it", Brown said in a September interview, referring to his contract negotiations with the Celtics.

"We've given him rather a lot of offers", Ainge acknowledged on 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Toucher and Rich" Thursday morning. We've been negotiating for a little while.

The Boston Celtics have offered Jaylen Brown a four-year, $80 million deal, but the 22-year-old wingman is reportedly seeking more.

It was unclear whether Ainge was characterizing as incorrect the reported terms of the deal or that Brown had turned it down.

Janny Knol, North Netherlands deputy police chief, confirmed that the children had been banned from going outside the house. Dutch media have identified him as Josef Brunner, a handyman on the property who paid the rent and brought in supplies.

Ainge didn't find the report accurate, perhaps because it sounds like the C's only made the one offer.

However, Brown believes he has star potential and is pursuing a bigger offer, sources told Haynes. "He seems to be good and playing well and in good spirits and working hard. I focus on every participant would, but I focus on we're in an even situation".

Brown, who turns 23 next week, is heading into the final season of his contract, and he would be a restricted free agent next summer unless he comes to an agreement with the Celtics.

Jaylen Brown (7) of the Boston Celtics shoots the ball against the Orlando Magic during a pre-season game on October 11, 2019 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. He's coming off a season in which he averaged 13.0 points with 4.2 rebounds while shooting 46.5% from the field. He is essentially gambling on himself, as his numbers were down a bit last season and he did not have the type of breakout year some predicted he would.
