"I visited with my family in May 2019 during the school holidays", Gill explained, the museum revealed in a press release. The Thermal Camera is one of our most popular exhibits that lets visitors see a visual of all their body hot spots.

"As all families do, we entered and started to wave our arms and look at the images created", she said. When Bal stepped into our Thermal Camera and took a family picture, she noticed something odd, a red heat patch coming from her left breast.

Gill may have had a lucky break thanks to a thermal imaging camera, but medical experts do not recommend using the devices for screening purposes.

Research has found that the average percentage of women affected by breast cancer out of all cancer cases globally in both developed and developing nations is 16%, with the rate of affected individuals increasing annually by 10%. All proceeds go to the cancer center.

Dr. Bujassoum said improvements in care for breast cancer patients were highlighted throughout the conference, including many new breast imaging tools that have been introduced to enhance the ability to diagnose early-stage breast cancer.

Andrew Johnson, the general manager of Camera Obscura & World of Illusions, said he was moved to learn of Gill's story, "as breast cancer is very close to home for me and a number of our team".

The Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), is an annual worldwide health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Breast cancer is the most common non-skin related malignancy in women living in GCC countries, according to reports from the US National Library of Medicine.

In 2019, the nonprofit estimates that 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in the US, as well as 62,930 new cases of noninvasive breast cancer.

The conference, which was attended by over 400 local, regional, and worldwide healthcare professionals, focused on improving the quality of cancer care for patients with breast and gynaecological cancers and highlighted advances in imaging methods, new treatments and techniques, and quality improvements in patient care.
