Of course, the Pixel 4's capability to handle the next-gen Rich Messaging Service (RCS) will be dictated by carrier support, but at least now the handset has software capable of the iMessage-like SMS successor. The notch is gone, with the top black bezel returning, and the fingerprint scanner has been ditched in favour of facial recognition ID; we'll have to see if the other tweaks can keep the Pixel 4 XL ahead of the competition.

A company executive confirmed this news on Reddit while replying to a user. Unfortunately, Google hasn't said exactly which Pixel devices will get it and when it could arrive.

The Pixel 4's voice recorder is special because it can provide live transcriptions of conversations with spectacular accuracy.

That's because the tech firm hasn't just given Android fans a regular voice recorder, it's crammed the app with a bunch of software magic, too. The Pixel 4 Recorder makes the odd mistake and gets confused if multiple people are speaking at once.

The improvements to Google's smooth display could be more noticeable, though.

Labour's Lindsay Hoyle chosen to replace Bercow as UK Commons speaker
Upon his victory Mr Hoyle said: "It's been a long night, I don't want to keep you anymore but I do stand by what I've said". MP John Bercow speaks at the House of Commons Chamber for the final time as Speaker, in London, Britain October 31, 2019.

As part of the Android Security Patch for November 2019, Google also released today the Pixel Update for November 2019, which addresses an additional 21 vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel components, Qualcomm components, including closed-source ones, LG components, and Android Framework, specific to Pixel devices, along with functional patches that bring various improvements to supported Pixel phones. While the Pixel 2, 3 and 4 families of devices all receive updates, notably absent was the OG Google Pixel.

Additionally, a separate report from 9to5Google reveals that Google Photos is getting another new feature exclusively on the Pixel 4 duo.

Google's newest flagship isn't cheap. This new feature will essentially let you grab high-resolution still from any video shot on the Pixel 4.
