Bottas: Denying Hamilton win/title combo "feels good"

He won his first World Championship title with McLaren in 2008, moved to Mercedes to win back-to-back titles from 2014 to 2015.

Lewis Hamilton has secured his sixth world drivers' championship after finishing second at the United States Grand Prix.

David Richards, chairman of Motorsport UK, and Lord Peter Hain, a former member of several Labour governments have written to Johnson, urging to recognise Hamilton in the New Year honours.

Despite retiring from the US GP early on in Austin on a surprisingly troubled Sunday for Ferrari, Vettel appeared in the cool-down room before the podium to personally congratulate Hamilton on the Mercedes drivers' latest F1 triumph.

Hamilton jumped both Ferrari drivers on the opening lap and was then only one among the leaders to execute a one-stop strategy, which elevated him above Bottas and Max Verstappen.

There has been no comment from Downing Street yet on the matter.

Willie Taggart Fired from FSU
The Seminoles won both games. "Willie is a fine man a good leader a gentleman", said Seminole Boosters CEO Andy Miller. FSU missed a bowl game for the first time in 36 years after ending the 2018 season with a 5-7 record.

Nursing his tyres well, the Briton led much of the race before ultimately giving best to teammate Valtteri Bottas, who used his fresher rubber to catch and pass Hamilton with just four laps to go. "Personally, I failed on my goal this 12 months, however Lewis deserves it". But although he has always played down the significance of records, it appears unlikely that he will want to end his incredible run with Mercedes at the end of 2020 when the opportunity is likely to remain to not only equal Schumacher's career number but also surpass them, before he steps down from driving. We started the season honestly going off to Melbourne thinking that we were going to be behind.

However, the result was largely academic, as Hamilton had only needed an eighth place finish in Austin to be sure of his sixth world title, and the 34-year-old now has an unassailable points total of 381 with just two races left this year. We had a good battle on track and I passed him to secure the win. "I believe that I have the ability to continue to grow and to do more with this team and within Formula One and so that would be the target but time will tell", said Hamilton, hinting that he will not part ways with Mercedes any time soon.

He added: "I'm not really one that thinks of records".

"If we are able to provide the drivers with a good vehicle and we continue to work on the gaps we still have and try to minimise the mistakes and he has a good season, there is no reason why he couldn't go for a seventh title". He has done an incredible season.

The dangers of the job also hit home with the death of Anthoine Hubert in a high-speed crash during a Formula Two race at the Belgian Grand Prix. Every single one of us is struggling with something. "I try to show people that, from the outside, things always look great, but it's not always the case", he mentioned. "I didn't realise how much I loved the guy".
