New details about the rumored relationship between the late Whitney Houston and her longtime friend, Robyn Crawford, are coming to light in Crawford's new memoir, A Song For You: My Life With Whitney Houston.

The two met as teenagers while working at a New Jersey summer camp in 1980.

"She claimed we should not be actual physical anymore, mainly because it would make our journey even much more complicated", shared Crawford, adding the singer broke the information with the reward of a Bible.

In the book, Crawford describes a physical relationship and the first time she says they touched each other.

Whitney's health and wellbeing would be on a slippery slope from then on and Crawford said that it was hard watching her friend becoming isolated.

Crawford is finally spilling the tea on their relationship, which she says was indeed physical, at least for a short while. "I found comfort in my silence".

Whitney's family, including her mother Cissy Houston, did not approve of the relationship.

People's excerpt of Crawford's memoir also shows her touching on the subject of Houston's mother - who famously went on Oprah after her daughter's death to promote her own book and said she would have had a problem with Whitney being gay.

ABC News told journalist Yashar Ali that they would not provide further commentary or reporting on the situation on Wednesday. Those details aren't conclusive, however, as hyoid bones do get broken in hangings, particularly in Epstein's age range.

"I wanted to lift her legacy, give her respect and share the story of who she was before the fame, and in that, to embrace our friendship", she explained. We seriously meant every thing to every single other.

After years of silence, Crawford made a decision to write the book to provide an understanding of Houston's complex life and set the record straight.

She hopes the book will remind people what a big hearted and generous friend she was.

Still, Crawford remained by Whitney's side for years, taking on the role of her creative director. Though she was known for her romances with men, there are long-standing rumors that she had a fling with her best friend and assistant, Robyn Crawford, at the beginning of her career.

"I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney's life, Whitney would still be alive today".

"I wanted the audience to see that that's what Whitney had to deal with", Macdonald said.

Houston died in 2012 in a bathtub at her home from an apparent drug overdose. Houston went on to date Jermaine Jackson, Eddie Murphy and eventually marry Bobby Brown in 1992.
