Aniah Blanchard disappearance: Suspect charged with kidnapping, still at large

According to Alabama CBS affiliate WRBL, police have released images of a person of interest captured on video surveillance at the convenience store where Blanchard was last seen.

"Cops are hoping someone can identify the man in the video - described as "a black male, early-mid 20's, approximately 200 lbs., and is between 5'8" and 5'10".

Blanchard, a Southern Union College student from Homewood, was officially reported missing Thursday, Oct. 24.

Auburn police Capt. Lorenza Dorsey said Blanchard's vehicle had been damaged sometime between the last time it was seen in Auburn and Friday night.

A Montgomery man with a history of arrests for violent crimes has been charged with kidnapping in the disappearance of Aniah Blanchard and is sought by police.

A reward totaling $105,000, including $25,000 contributed by UFC president Dana White, is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Yazeed is out on bond already for charges of kidnapping and attempted murder in another case, police said. Currently, the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Taskforce along with other agencies assisting in this investigation are actively searching for Yazeed.

Police say they want to speak with the man as part of the probe into Blanchard's disappearance.

Police said her vehicle was seen in the early-morning hours of October 24 along South College Street. She last talked to a friend just before midnight on the 23rd. They said it was recorded just before her SUV was seen traveling southbound on South College Street. The apartment complex is on Boardwalk Boulevard, which is not far off Atlanta Highway. Police said the vehicle contained evidence that Blanchard had been harmed.

Auburn Police Chief Paul Register said investigators were keying in on the area between Auburn and Montgomery.

Aniah Blanchard, the stepdaughter of UFC heavyweight Walt Harris, was reported missing on October 24.
