A few months back, it was confirmed that the Gossip Girl reboot was, indeed, happening. And while the series is set to focus on a new crop of New York City elites, there's at least one familiar name who's already agreed to return to reprise her role in the reboot. It is set eight years after the original show's finale and will follow a new generation of NY private school teens who are introduced to the social surveillance of the Gossip Girl site.

There are several actresses more certainly suited to omnipresence than Kristen Bell-currently hanging out at the Frozen twopremiere, even as her alter-ego Eleanor Shellstrop wrestles with the infinite about on The Fantastic Location. Bell served as the narrator -Gossip Girl - for all six seasons comprised of 121 episodes.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Kristen Bell closed a deal to return for HBO Max's reboot of the iconic CW show. Safran will write the script and executive produce alongside Schwartz and Savage. Safran described the show as a new look at this particular society in NY. Throughout the series, the changes in social media, as well as in the landscape of NY throughout intervening years would be addressed. "None of us are interested in just redoing a story", Safran said. In the meantime, we have HBO Max's official statement on the reboot: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of NY private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl".
