More details have surfaced on CM Punk's surprise appearance Tuesday night on WWE Backstage. FOX's Twitter account noted that Punk will be appearing periodically.

CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks) left WWE less than amicably in 2014, claiming he was done with wrestling in large part due to how he was treated with the company.

Are you excited to see CM Punk in WWE Backstage?

After leaving WWE in 2014, Punk chose to concentrate on his MMA career and was also offered a contract by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Just when they think they got the answers, I change the culture. Fox screen-tested him for the show, and he has been doing commentary for Cage Fury Fighting Championships. However, he did previously admit he was interested in joining "WWE Backstage", and he reportedly screen tested for the role a few weeks ago.

The message - of wonderful, Apple-like device connectivity - is presented here with the new " Star Wars " movie as the background. Of course, we expect Galaxy S11 leaks to keep flooding in until Samsung eventually takes to the stage and reveals it.

Punk, known for his famous pipebomb promo in 2011 and the willingness to tell it like it is, could provide the buzz the show needs.

Last October, Fox and WWE Smackdown officially embarked on a new five-year broadcast deal worth $205 million ($299M AUD) annually to broadcast the two-hour show every week. Talk picked up again when he appeared to sign autographs and do a stage show at the Starrcast III convention done in conjunction with All Elite Wrestling's "All Out" pay-per-view his hometown of Chicago in August. It's a great move after the show's ratings were very low in week one. So this certainly doesn't mean an in-ring return is a definite. As Triple H said, "Never say never".

In his time away from WWE, CM Punk has remained connected to combat sports. As Punk's music hit, Paige yelled out: "Is this a rib?"

There's obvious speculation on this leading to an in-ring return for Punk, but that has not been reported by any credible source.
