"I also want to commend Chase Young and let him know how proud we are of him", Smith said.

Young, who leads the country in sacks with 13.5, sat out last Saturday against Maryland after the NCAA rules violation came to light.

Ohio State plays on Rutgers at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at SHI Stadium.

Ohio State had made a request for immediate reinstatement with the NCAA, including asking for a decision to be expedited.

Certainly, that's the bare acceptable minimum amount versus any non-ranked team, but the truth of the issue is that he needs the CFP to have an understanding of Ohio State's dominance.
