Nicolas Cage Pic ‘The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent’ Near Lionsgate Deal

"In the film about the life of Nicolas Cage, who do you reckon could play Nicolas Cage?". "He also occasionally talks to an egotistical 1990s version of himself who rides him for making too many crappy movies and for not being a star anymore", according to Hollywood Reporter.

The "Unbearable" package includes Tom Gormican attached to direct from a script he wrote with Kevin Etten.

While he bonds with the man, Cage is informed by the CIA that the billionaire is actually a drug cartel kingpin who has kidnapped the daughter of a Mexican presidential nominee, and is recruited by the US government to get intelligence.

When the billionaire brings his wife and daughter into the picture, well, that's when Cage is up against the role of his life.

Narwhal: Puppy with extra tail on his head rescued
Whoever ends up with this pup will surely be like a dog with two tails (all pun intended) just considering how cute Narwhal looks. An animal rescue shelter in Missouri has taken in an abandoned puppy that has a second tail growing from the middle of its head.

The script is set to include nods to various Cage works including Leaving Las Vegas, Face-Off and Gone in 60 Seconds and reportedly has tones of Adaptation, which Cage starred in, as well as Jean-Claude Van Damme's JCVD and the Hollywood caper Get Shorty. In other words, Nicolas Cage is absolutely doing this movie, it's just a matter of when: as we recently learned, he's got the bonkers-sounding Wally's Wonderland on deck, and that's shooting in January. Cage's other upcoming projects include the H.P. Lovecraft adaptation The Color Out of Space, opening January 24. Over his career, Cage has played some pretty out-there kinda characters, so it kinda makes sense that his public persona would be also pretty out-there and then he'll be playing himself in a film.

The script was written without Cage's knowledge, sent personally to the "Moonstruck" star by Gormican, who pleaded with Cage to play himself.

The Oscar-winning Cage has been making genre pics of late including the cult hit Mandy.

Cage is repped by WME, Stridge Management and Goodman Schenkman. Etten is repped by UTA and 3 Arts. He wrote that the film was a "love letter to the actor, not something that made fun of him", according to the Reporter.
