A husband and wife and three of their young children died Saturday morning at the family's San Diego home in what police believe was a murder-suicide sparked by a bitter divorce.

A 9-year-old boy, 5-year-old boy and 3-year-old boy were among those that were killed.

Dobbs said when officers arrived, they found a 3-year-old boy, a 29-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man dead inside. A fourth child was rushed to a hospital and is now undergoing emergency surgery.

San Diego Police were called to the 2100 block of Flintridge Dr. just before 7 a.m. Police said the dispatcher could not communicate with the caller, but could hear an argument and someone being asked to leave in the background. "They weren't able to get any doors open, so what they had to do is break out the front window of that granny flat to make entry, and at that point they found many people with gunshot wounds". Police believe the shooter was one of the deceased.

"He used a handgun to shoot his family before turning the gun on himself", the lieutenant said.

It was Woods performance in the Players Championship that really caught the eye, with rounds of 65 and 69 during the weekend. With the leaders in the US Open normally hovering around par, this produces a great opportunity for Woods to capitalize.

Neighbors told the San Diego Union-Tribune they often saw the boys outside playing with their dog or riding their bicycles. Two of those boys died and another one is in critical condition undergoing emergency surgery, though it is not clear which one survived, Dobbs said.

"A couple weeks ago around November 1, officers responded to the same address over a dispute about property", San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit said in a press conference Saturday afternoon.

Dobbs added the victim tried to obtain a restraining order yesterday.

Mayor Kevin Faulconer responded to news of the shooting on Twitter Saturday afternoon. "The tragedy today in Paradise Hills is terribly sad", his tweet said. "This senseless act of violence goes against everything our community stands for and we will get through this together".

Those killed and injured were identified as two parents and their four children, but their names were not immediately released at the request of their family.
