In doing so, the Clippers' new acquisition became the first player in the history of the National Basketball Association to score 37 points in that duration.

Los Angeles Clippers fans who saw their team take down the Atlanta Hawks by 49 points on Saturday could be anxious for Kawhi Leonard.

It was the Clippers' largest margin of victory ever and their total points scored were the second-most in franchise history. "We've had one live practice with Pat, Kawhi, Sham, Paul George on the floor. One". His 3-point shot was falling all night long, and he had no problem getting into the paint, where he scored a number of baskets and earned 11 free throws, all of which he knocked down.

LOS ANGELES - Paul George drove to the rim, was shoved from behind and still found a way to score with the foul. I was actually able to just move.

As if his scoring outburst wasn't enough, George brought the Staples Center crowd to their feet with a ideal off-the-backboard pass to the trailing Montrezl Harrell, who threw the lob down with authority to put an exclamation mark on the effort.

Devonte Graham nailed a three-pointer - his ninth of the game - with 2.8 seconds remaining as the Charlotte Hornets edged the New York Knicks 103-102.

It wasn't soon enough for the Hawks.

The Hawks fell behind double-digits in the opening minutes and never recovered, in what now looms as a brutal back-to-back set for Lloyd Pierce's squad. They led by 17 and shot 59 percent in the opening quarter. They cut the gap to 51-47 midway through the second quarter after a bucket by Parker.

The Timberwolves led by as many as 11 points in the first half but struggled to contain Harden.

Trae Young led the Hawks with 20 points to go along with six assists. At the start of the fourth quarter, George made his sixth three-pointer of the night.

The Clippers dominated in almost every category, with their bench outscoring the Hawks' reserves 81-35. He also made all 11 of his free throws in just 20 minutes of playing time.

Hawks: Young's run of consecutive games with double-doubles ended at four.

Atlanta's Vince Carter didn't play due to personal reasons.

Clippers: George passed Phil Smith (35 on October 10, 1980) for most points in a Clippers home debut.

The Clippers led throughout, including a 12-point cushion at the half.

Point guard Ben McLemore carried over the momentum of his season-high 21 point performace on Friday by scoring 20 against the Timberwolves. Their 43 points were the most in a first quarter since scoring 46 against Philadelphia on February 9, 2014. Shooting guard Landry Shamet will miss his third straight game with a high ankle sprain, while Beverley will miss his second straight.

Robert Covington chipped in 17 points, and rookie Jarrett Culver added 13 points.

Austin Rivers and Chris Clemons scored 19 points apiece for the Rockets, who also received a career-best 16 rebounds from centre Isaiah Hartenstein.
