White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham on Saturday said Trump took advantage of a free weekend to complete portions of his annual physical before "a very busy 2020" when he faces a tough re-election race.

Reiner said he was told by his contacts at the White House that Trump and his people had been thinking about going to Walter Reed for some time and he went when he had some downtime, but he said the abrupt trip to the hospital was "unusual" and he was "skeptical" of the trip given how physicals tend to be scheduled in advance and performed at the White House.

The White House's release of the partial results of the exam came at the end of the day in which Trump and his aides debated how to address the rumors.

On Saturday, Trump made an unexpected and unannounced visit to Walter Reed Medical Center.

The President's motorcade drove to the medical center unannounced, with reporters under direction not to report his movement until they arrived Saturday at Walter Reed.

Trump departed the hospital approximately two hours later after "a quick exam and labs", according to an official statement at the time from Grisham, who said the President "remains healthy and energetic". On Sunday, she told CNN her previous statements "were truthful and accurate" and "actively trying to find and report conspiracy theories really needs to stop".

In some cases, patients who underwent invasive techniques were more likely to suffer a heart attack or even die. It accounts for approximately 15% to 20% of all deaths, according to studies.

"Also began phase one of my yearly physical", he added.

At Trump's last routine examination in February, Conley declared him to be in "very good health".

On Saturday night, Grisham told NBC News that Trump "is fine - perfectly healthy", he had undergone "a routine checkup", and "speculation of this nature is irresponsible and unsafe for this country".

Former Hillary Clinton campaign staffer Charlotte Clymer joked the "chest pain" rumors were "absurd" since "Trump doesn't have a heart", she tweeted.

Full results from the exam will be released later but the president's physician said Trump's total cholesterol is 165, with HDL of 70, LDL of 84 and non-HDL of 95, all within recommended ranges.

Jackson also revealed that Trump underwent a coronary calcium CT scan as part of his routine physical exam. Trump's score was recorded as 133, and Gupta noted at the time that anything over 100 indicates plaque is present and that the patient has heart disease.
