Trump Denies Sending Giuliani to Ukraine for Biden Probe

The subpoenas, which were issued to several people in Giuliani's inner circle, indicate that prosecutors are looking into possible money laundering, obstruction of justice, and campaign-finance violations. Trump and his allies allege Joe Biden and his son Hunter were engaged in a conflict of interest related to Hunter's business holdings in Ukraine.

Both men deny the charges.

Giuliani also stayed at Betancourt's estate south of Madrid, Spain in August while simultaneously working to unearth corruption connected to Ukrainian officials and former vice president Joe Biden, at the behest of President Trump.

One of the focuses of the investigation is Giuliani's consulting firm, Giuliani and Partners, the report notes.

Giuliani and his consultancy business are under scrutiny by the U.S. Attorney for the SDNY, an office he used to lead when he was a prosecutor before later becoming mayor of the city.

Giuliani did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

The arrest of Parnas and Fruman is unrelated to the impeachment inquiry, and relates to alleged campaign finance violations carried out by the men.

Giuliani's businesses and several of his associates are now under federal scrutiny in a wide-ranging investigation.
