Tall City shoppers support local businesses

This "business holiday" encourages consumers to support neighborhood stores, small businesses, and restaurants in their community.

The holiday season is all about giving gifts to the ones you love.

Numerous small businesses in Missoula are in the downtown area which has over 50 local stores.

Bennie Parr Jr., right, said he enjoyed seeing customers at has businees, Bennie's Pizza Pub on Main Street in downtown Belleville, during the Small Business Saturday event.

Melissa Mattox, the owner of Miss Behaven, says all the Downtown Georgetown shops give back.

Gilbert said it also helps the city. Every time you spend your dollars locally you are bringing cool things to the area.

"Shop local is not just one day", Saunders says. "It also boosts our local economy", she said.

The incident strengthened concerns over ByteDance's ( TikTok owner) subservience to Chinese authorities. And if ever the latter would do so, TikTok said they'd not follow.

Helping out local stores like Pruess Pets really impacts the community.

"We put our money back into the community, we shop local, we hire local all the way from accounting to office supplies".

He said they even open up their space for local artists to showcase and sell their work.

"More incentive to have great local businesses moving forward as a community", Russo said.

It's a day meant to help and thank locally-owned businesses.

"I think it's been growing ever since I came here", Russo said.

A steady stream of shoppers stopped by Circa Boutique + Gifts on Saturday during the Small Business Saturday event. We have several businesses in downtown that are locally owned and operated so you can come down whenever.
