During the final match of the recently concluded season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in Surat, Tamil Nadu all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin had almost won the match for his team in the last over.

Manish Pandey, after leading Karnataka to Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Sunday, has entered into wedlock with Tamil actress, Ashrita Shetty on Monday in a traditional ceremony attended by friends and family in Mumbai.

When he was asked about the upcoming West Indies series in the post-match presentation ceremony of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Pandey said, "Before the West Indies series, I have one more big series to come, I am getting married tomorrow (December 2)". Despatched into bat, Karnataka made a hard 180 for 5, driving on skipper Manish Pandey's 45-ball unbeaten 60 and helpful contribution from Rohan Kadam (35), Devdutt Padikkal (32) and KL Rahul (22).

Ashrita Shetty, 26, has predominantly featured in Tamil films, where she rose to fame after working in Udhayam NH4.

Batting first, Karnataka had piled up 180 runs in their quota of 20 overs with skipper Manish Pandey showing them the road.

Karnataka bowlers then produced a fine display of death over bowling to restrict Tamil Nadu to 179/6 in their 20 overs.

Tamil Nadu lost openers Shahrukh Khan and Hari Nishanth early and Karnataka strengthened their grip on the contest with the wickets of Washington Sundar and Karthik. Tamil Nadu fell 1 run short in the chase. However, the contest swung Tamil Nadu's way after Baba Aparajith and Vijay Shankar built a whirlwind 71-run stand for the fifth wicket.

Manish has represented India in 23 one-day internationals and 32 T20Is so far, scoring one hundred in the ODI format.
